Vintage Ale

Once in a while opportunities arise, that really are too good to pass up. Recently, well, 18 months ago to be exact, the opportunity to fill one of our super limited and super special whisky barrels with our now infamous barleywine, Banshee. The history of the barrel is so very special. 6 years ago, the barrel arrived from Spain, still wet with Pedro Ximenez. We immediately set about finishing a very delicious Ramjet Whisky which had spent some years in an ex-bourbon barrel. Once the Banshee had finished ferment, we had the brainwave to transfer the whisky to another PX barrel, so we could age a very limited portion of Banshee in the PX-Ramjet Whisky barrel. Only 250L exist of this absolutely luscious beer, rich with a malty depth that is impossible to achieve without the help of whisky and Pedro Ximenez.
